Building Bridges

I've seen a few people using 'blue foam' for their models, and always wanted to try it, but never really found any. I have bought bits and pieces of foam over the years but they have never really done the job.  But I found this blue foam, which is now grey, and it seems to have the right sort of properties. Even with this, though, I bought two different size peices and the two pieces were remarkably different. The darker grey stuff, below, seems harder and crisper and easier to use than the lighter grey stuff I am using for the bridge.

Seems like a really fun and versatile material to use, though. I'm guessing in the UK it isn't used for insulation as it seems quite hard to get and is sold as modelling foam, whereas in some other countries, there seems to be a lot of the stuff about.

Sea Walls

Thought I'd do a few bits of dock for Modlhafen. The round towers might end up as lighthouses.

Post Apoc Vehicles

Picked up these cars from Wargames Terrain Workshop at Devises and added bits from Ramshackle and turrets from Crooked Dice.

I am also working on a huge post apoc bendy bus, which is based on a toy. I've added some Ramshackle turrets and bits from various places. If I survive the apocalypse I will definitely be looking to get hold of one of these.

Tidy up the Nursery

I'm feeling burnt out a little bit on mini painting and terrain stuff. One factor, probably, is that my painting space suffers from the ineluctable encroachment of my inherent messiness. I am now reduced to, quite literally, about 6 square inches of painting table remaining.

In addition, my wargames table in the loft has had so much stuff piling up on and around it that I was unable to play on it, or have the room to even change the table theme. So I had a good reorganisation, put some more shelves up, and freed up a load of space.

I still haven't finished clearing my painting table, but I've finished the loft and made a lot of extra room. Now, if only the weather would cool down enough to make playing in the loft bearable.

Big Rig WIP 3

Pretty much finished the big rig. Will add the scoopy thing to the front when it arrives, and might add the odd spikey bit. I think I'll probably add some magnets too, to attach weapons, if I can find some suitable weapons.

Big Rig WIP 2

Finished most of the modelling for the big rig. It's a bit huge, coming in at about 70cm long. Not sure how practical that will be. Just waiting for a front scoopy thing.

Big Rig WIP 1

Having done a bit of post apoc style scenery for my Airspeed stuff, I have discovered that Crooked Dice are developing some post apoc for 7TV, which should be out this year. So, I've decided to make a proper effort for a 28mm post apoc table. This is the beginnings of a Mad Max inspired war rig.

Post Apoc, Caravan WIP

Having made some post apoc style terrain for Airspeed, I have painted up some post apoc style minis from various sources that I have had lying about for ages. This looks like two plausible gangs for some sort of fight that I don't have rules for. Maybe I will try them in 7TV, although each figure looks rather too individual to be a 7TV Extra.

I have also started a survivors' caravan thing as post apoc terrain.
